Volunteer Opportunities

Since the beginning, members of the Norwegian-American community, local church members, service club members, residents, family members and neighbors have been critical to the purpose and mission of our not-for-profit organization.

Today, we continue to be blessed with a wide diversity of volunteers - young families and their children, older adults, students and church groups; some volunteer once a year, others are here every week. They come with many gifts and talents but what they all have in common is a willingness to share and make a difference.

Our volunteers undertake a variety of tasks - reading to our residents, assisting with activities, delivering meals, helping with office projects, delivering mail, assisting in the gift shop or thrift shop, bringing in your pet to visit residents, watering and tending the gardens, and much more. These are just some of the ways volunteers help supplement staff's efforts so they can be even more focused on the needs of our resident community.

Volunteer opportunities are available in many areas seven days week. If you have a few hours to spare we welcome your interest. The process is easy, you can e-mail your information or you may call 773.577.5387 to speak with the volunteer coordinator. You will be required to complete a volunteer application form and attend a brief interview and orientation. Once the process is complete we will make every effort to match your interests, talents and time availability with an opportunity in the area of your choice.
